Born in April 2018 in Barcelona's Eixample, The Alchemix is the project of chef Sergi Palacín and the mixologist and pastry chef Ignacio Ussía, both with experience in renowned kitchens such as elBulli, in Spain, or Gaggan, in Thailand. The Alchemix unites the worlds of gastronomy and cocktails and its elaborations overflow technique on all four sides.
The menu is brief but intense. Snacks and appetizers, table dishes and delicious desserts make up the proposal. It mixes East and West influences through creative recipes made with the best local produce. In addition, The Alchemix also offers a recommendable tasting set menu that varies by season.
The space has a pleasant dining room and a bar area at the entrance where cocktails are prepared, which emanate fantasy and influences from different countries. Liquid nitrogen, dry ice, foams, gelling agents or spherifications are some of the components of the sophisticated preparations. In addition, most of the cocktails are finished at table so that diners can witness closely the skill of the 'alchemists' and the spectacularity of their potions.
